Napa Pedestrian Auto Accident Fatally Injures Two-Year-Old

On Thursday, August 6, 2020, a two-year-old child was fatally injured during a Napa pedestrian auto accident. The Napa Police Department (NPD) indicated that this terrible accident happened in the afternoon outside of a local school. No other individuals were physically injured during the incident, and NPD is still conducting an investigation into causal factors. Accident Details

NPD indicated that the incident happened just before 3:00 p.m. outside of Buhman Park across from Browns Valley School. A local mother was visiting the park when her child reportedly entered the roadway. After the child entered the road, they were struck by a vehicle traveling north on Buhman Avenue.

The accident was immediately reported to NPD dispatch, who rushed officers to the scene. When they reached the accident location, emergency officials discovered that the child had been critically injured. Sadly, the child was pronounced deceased on-site.

Investigation

An investigation into this incident is being conducted by the NPD Accident Reconstruction Team. Police indicated that the involved driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers. At this time, alcohol and drugs are not suspected as accident factors. Reportedly, police shut down Buhman between Meadowbrook Drive and Browns Valley Road for three hours while preliminary investigations were underway.
