Mail Truck Accident in Chico
A United States Postal Service vehicle crashed through a fence driving into the side portion of a home in Chico, California.
What Happened?
A United States Postal Service employee was driving his mail truck and had just finished delivering a package along Satinwood Way. When the postal employee was embarking his vehicle, he noticed a package was about to fall out of his truck and he reached over to catch it. Unfortunately, the postal worker fell out of the mail truck alongside the package he was attempting to catch to prevent it from falling. The mail truck crossed Eaton Road where it crashed through a fence and into the side of a corner home located along Lupin Avenue.
Was Anyone Hurt in the Chico Mail Truck Crash?
The occupants who reside at the residence were not at home at the time of the crash. The family was quite surprised to learn about what took place while they were off on a camping trip together.
The Chico Police Department reports that there were no injuries sustained to any individuals in this incident, including the driver of the mail truck.
Authorities ruled out the use of alcohol and drugs as a factor in the accident. Firefighters from the Chico Fire Department were dispatched to the scene to assist with the emergency.
