Car Versus Bus Accident Modesto
I’m Ed Smith, a Modesto car accident lawyer. A motorist was traveling in Modesto during the evening hours of Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Unfortunately, the driver allegedly crashed into a city bus and suffered injuries due to the collision.
What Happened?
A motorist was driving their Toyota Celica southbound along McHenry Avenue in the vicinity of Roseburg Avenue at approximately 7:00 pm. The driver was allegedly weaving through traffic when the vehicle struck the rear corner of a Modesto Area Express Bus. The Toyota sustained major body damage and the bus received slight damage from the impact of the collision.
Was Anybody Injured?
There were no reported injuries from occupants on the bus. The driver of the Toyota was the only person that was reported to receive injuries in the accident. The motorist was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The following video demonstrates the scene of the accident. As you may view in the video, the front-end of the Toyota Celica was completely crushed in. The vehicle required towing services to be moved from the scene. The bus received minor damage and was removed from service due to the collision.
Driving Myth
Some drivers believe that weaving in and out of traffic to pass slower drivers will reduce their commute time. This is dangerous myth. Staying in one lane rather than constantly switching lanes to overtake slower moving vehicles on the roadway is safer for vehicle occupants in the long run. The reason for this is that a weaving motorist may cause an accident with another vehicle, leading to an increased risk of injury. It is best to always give yourself extra time when you are heading out to an appointment, school or work. It is wise to avoid the urge to speed. Just take your time and arrive to your destination uninjured.
