Big Rig Crash on Mountain View Road

Authorities in Stanislaus County reported a big rig crash on Mountain View Road on the afternoon of Thursday, June 9, 2022. The traffic collision was said to have occurred at approximately 12:50 p.m. and involved three vehicles.

Preliminary Details on Big Rig Crash on Mountain View Road

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the incident on East Keyes Road and Mountain View Road just southeast of Modesto. When CHP traffic officers arrived at the crash site, they located the three involved vehicles. These were described as a Bobtail truck, a pickup truck, and a big rig. Injuries were reported in the crash. Details on the number of parties injured in the truck accident and what caused the wreck was not immediately available.

What are the Most Common Causes of Big Rig Crashes?

Large commercial trucks are essential to the economy in the United States, including California. It would be challenging to function without big rigs. However, tractor-trailers present unique risks on the road because of their overwhelming size and weight, in addition to increased stopping distance and reduced visibility. Such factors may make 18-wheelers more dangerous to others on the road. State and federal regulations are in place to reduce the dangers that are associated with the trucking industry to ensure the safety of everyone on the road. When truck drivers or trucking companies fail to follow safety regulations or engage in irresponsible conduct in another way, they may be held liable for damages if their negligent actions cause harm to other parties.

While a personal injury claim may be the last thought on the minds of those injured in a recent truck accident in Modesto, the reality of such a situation is that there are several reasons why immediate action should be taken to protect your rights as an injured party. The first is the opportunity to seek financial recovery from the at-fault party for economic and non-economic damages like wage loss, pain and suffering, medical bills, and more. To bring a successful case forward, there must be evidence establishing negligence on the part of the truck driver or trucking company. Some of the most common reasons for big rig crashes include violations of state and federal regulations, not following the rules of the road, driving under the influence (DUI), speeding, insufficient driver training, distracted driving, and more.

Given that truck accident cases may involve the negligent actions of more than one party, it is essential to work with an accident attorney that has the knowledge and resources to investigate the incident and work with experts in the field to properly determine fault. Unlike the other side, you can depend on your Modesto truck accident lawyer to seek a fair financial recovery that covers all your losses.
