A Ceres woman was driving her white Jeep Compass Sport eastbound along East Hatch Road in between Central Avenue and Richland Avenue at approximately 2:00 am. At the same time, a Modesto man was driving his silver 2003 Honda Accord westbound along East Hatch Road. For unknown reasons, the Honda veered into the opposing lane of travel and collided head-on with the Jeep. The impact of the collision reportedly caused serious damage to both vehicles involved.

The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of the two parties as 65-year-old Hope Granados of Ceres and 28-year-old Francisco Verdugo-Garcia of Modesto.

Cause of Accident

The cause of the accident is unspecified at this time due to a pending investigation by the Ceres Police Department. Generally, investigators take seven to ten days to process a Traffic Collision Report.

Losing a Loved One

It is never easy experiencing the loss of someone you love. Many grieving individuals have difficulties adjusting to the new reality of life without their loved one by their side. As people process a loved one’s untimely passing, they may experience a wide variety of emotions. It is important to recognize that there is no right or wrong way to grieve as everyone deals with death in their own personal way. Although it can be challenging to move on with your life without the person you loved, it is important to remember how much they cared about you and how they could never bear to see you suffering.

Loved Ones Forever Remembered

Hope Granados was a beloved member of her family. She will be forever remembered by her loved ones for her sweet, kind and loving soul.  A GoFundMe account has been created by her loved ones to help cover the expenses of her funeral.

Francisco Verdugo was a hard-working and caring member of his family. Unfortunately, he leaves behind his wife and 4-year-old son, who will forever miss him. A GoFundMe account has been created by a loved one of Verdugo to raise money for the expenses his family will face.
