Auburn Double Pedestrian Fatality

I’m Ed Smith, an Auburn Pedestrian Accident Attorney. On Sunday, April 3, 2016, a two Placer High School students died after being struck by a truck in Auburn. Early reports indicated the driver of the truck, Philip Ingram, 62, of Auburn, California was under the influence of a mood-altering substance.

What Happened?

Two teenage boys tragically lost their lives on Sunday night while walking adjacent to Highway 49 with a friend and his mother. Rescue personnel responded to the scene of the accident located near the Grass Valley Highway and Shale Ridge Lane. Placer County Sheriff’s investigators indicated that the group of pedestrians were walking well off the roadway and were doing nothing wrong. It appears that the motorist drifted off the roadway and hit the boys. Tragically, one young man was pronounced dead at the scene. The second young man died later at the hospital. A third young man and his mother were not injured.

What Caused the Auburn Double Pedestrian Fatality?

Philip Ingram was detained and later arrested for driving under the influence of an unknown substance.
