Brentwood Presents Art, Wine, and Jazz Festival

If you like the smooth melodies of jazz, the enriching taste of wine, and visually stimulating art – this event is exactly what you need. The Brentwood Art Society (BAS) and the City of Brentwood are coming together to start Summer 2019 off with a bang with the 17th annual Art, Wine & Jazz Festival. The festival will be hosted in downtown Brentwood from June 21 – 23.

Last year, the festival was canceled after the new owners of The Streets enforced restrictions on the event that would impact participating vendors and retail sales. Event organizers believed these changes would negatively impact the event and therefore decided to shut it down for 2018. However, the festival will be returning back to downtown for three full days this June.

What to Expect This Year

This event will kick off in conjunction with the Summer Concert Series – which was also put together by the City of Brentwood – from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, June 21. Art vendors, wine, and beer will be available at the park. By 11 a.m. on Saturday, the event will have switched into the fullest state with its inclusion of regional and local musicians, dance performances, food and art vendors, local wine and microbrews, art exhibits from local schools, supervised kid’s activities, live art activities, and even more.

On Saturday, the event will feature performances by East County Performing Arts Center, Brentwood Big Band, GroovaNova, Althea Battle, Angelo Luster, Hannah Dotson, Ray Obiedo, and San Francisco’s Pride & Joy Band. The lineup for Sunday will feature Michael Rogers, local rock band Slingshot, Jeff Edwins, and San Francisco artist Leah Tysse.

Supporting the Brentwood Community

The Art, Wine & Jazz Festival was founded under the BAS, in an attempt to further their goal to give back to the community. All funds raised by the event are donated to support other local organizations committed to the arts. For 2019, the festival proceeds will be directly supporting Brentwood Teen Theater, Ghostlight Theatre Ensemble, the BUSD Art Docent program, Brentwood Writes’ Open Mic, CityRead and Friends of the Library, and Art Guild of the Delta.

Brentwood is a prideful city that loves to support local businesses. For this reason, much of the content at the Art, Wine & Jazz Festival is locally-based. The wine and food are local. A number of the musicians and art vendors are local. The event organizers also promote the sponsorship and support of local businesses. Not only will this weekend festival be loads of fun for the entire family, but your attendance also supports a great cause in addition to helping maintain the artistic atmosphere that Brentwood is so very proud of.
