The city of Antioch is located in the heart of Contra Costa County in California. This East Bay city is also known as the Gateway to the Delta because it is located along the banks of the San Joaquin River. What many do not know about this city is that it was recently ranked #8 out of 65 for the most dangerous cities for accidents in the state.

In 2015, there were 384 accidents that caused 508 injuries and 10 deaths in Antioch. Out of these accidents, there were 18 (4.7%) bicycle accidents, 35 (9.1%) motorcycle accidents, 36 (9.4%) pedestrian accidents and 4 (1%) truck accidents in this city. Alcohol was involved in 44 (11.5%) of these accidents. Approximately 114 (29.7%) of these accidents took place along the state highway and 270 (70.3%) of these accidents did not. These accident statistics are shocking for this small-populated Contra Costa County city.
