Anderson Resident Fatally Injured in East Redding Crash

On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, one person sadly lost their life due to an East Redding Crash. According to the Redding Police Department (RPD), the incident involved two vehicles and happened early at night. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has stated that the decedent was 22 years old, but officials are waiting to release their complete identity pending notification of next-of-kin.

Crash Details

The accident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. on the Old Oregon trail close to the intersection of Dir Kinder Drive. According to RPD, a Honda Accord was driving southbound on Old Oregon Trail at a high rate of speed when, for reasons that aren’t currently known, the vehicle entered oncoming traffic against a double-yellow line median. While in northbound lanes, the Accord crashed into a 2014 Ford F-150 operated by a 62-year-old man from Castella. RPD indicated that the Accord kept traveling southbound until it collided with a tree, finally resting in a nearby field.

Response

When police arrived on the scene, they found that the Accord had sustained severe damages and later discovered that the driver had ejected through the windshield and was lying on the ground nearby. Sadly, medical officials at the site discovered the Accord driver had sustained critical injuries and pronounced him deceased at the scene. Whether or not the Ford driver sustained injuries has not been reported.

Investigation

RPD reports that their officers are investigating what could have caused this collision. At this point, investigating officers haven’t reported any suspected factors. Additionally, RPD asks that anybody with information about the circumstances of this accident get in touch with the RPD Traffic Unit to report what they know and assist with investigations. Callers should use the number (530) 225-4200 to get in touch.

Private Investigations are Important

Investigating a deadly accident can be very difficult, especially when police cannot interview one or more of the involved drivers. Without testimony from the driver, officers are liable to overlook necessary evidence that could serve as a critical part of a wrongful death case. Sadly, without all the relevant evidence, families cannot hold at-fault parties responsible for damages caused by the accident.

To ensure you and your loved ones can obtain the compensation you deserve from negligent parties, it’s essential to seek help from a Redding wrongful death lawyer. A skilled lawyer can privately investigate the collision while making sure that you and your family’s rights are treated as a priority.

If you’d like to learn more about what payments are available through wrongful death cases, it’s best to get personal advice about your situation from a trusted lawyer.
