MODESTO, CA – A young motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday evening after a devastating crash in north Modesto, authorities said.

According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident happened near the intersection of Polaris Street and Standiford Avenue around 7:12 p.m., after a 911 call alerted emergency services.
First responders from the Modesto Police Department, Fire Department, and emergency medical teams arrived quickly at the scene. The rider, an 18-year-old from Modesto, had been traveling westbound on Standiford Avenue when he lost control and collided with a fence.

At this time, no other vehicles are believed to have been involved, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

MODESTO, CA – A tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 29-year-old Modesto man Monday afternoon along Highway 132, just east of Waterford, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. near Rushing Road. When emergency crews arrived, they found a heavily damaged 2002 Ford pickup on the north shoulder of the highway. The driver was located a short distance away and, heartbreakingly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as a Modesto resident.

According to a preliminary report from the CHP, the man had been driving westbound when the vehicle veered off the roadway and flipped over. The driver was thrown from the truck during the crash and was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident and have not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role.

The CHP reminded the public of the life-saving importance of seat belts, stating, “Seat belts, when worn properly, have the ability to save your life when involved in a traffic crash.”

STOCKTON, CA — A tragic crash in Stockton on Monday afternoon claimed the life of one person, according to the Stockton Police Department.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Lane and East Swain Road. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had struck a light pole and was fully engulfed in flames.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the driver—who was the sole occupant of the car—was pronounced dead at the scene.
