STOCKTON, CA — Two men were hospitalized following a boating accident near Buckley Cove in Stockton on Saturday morning, authorities said.
According to the Stockton Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. near the Deep Water Channel and involved a motorboat and a sailboat. The motorboat had one occupant on board, while the sailboat was carrying three individuals.
A 64-year-old man and a 78-year-old man sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for medical care. A 69-year-old woman who was also involved in the collision chose not to receive medical treatment.
At this time, investigators do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

STOCKTON, CA – Two Stockton police officers were injured Saturday night after a suspect reportedly rammed their patrol vehicles during a response to a family disturbance.
Officers were dispatched around 9:12 p.m. to the 8500 block of Kelley Drive following a call regarding a domestic incident. According to the Stockton Police Department, while officers were on scene conducting an investigation, the suspect initially left but later returned and crashed into two occupied patrol cars.
Both officers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, their injuries were not life-threatening.
The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Hugo Carillo, allegedly resisted arrest. Police said that force was necessary to safely take him into custody.
Early Sunday morning, Carillo was booked into San Joaquin County Jail and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, DUI, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, child abuse, and domestic violence, according to correctional records. He is currently being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
As part of the investigation, the 8500 block of Kelley Drive was closed in both directions on Saturday night.

MODESTO, CA – Three people were injured Thursday night in a serious two-vehicle collision in Oakdale, where one of the cars caught fire and emergency crews rushed to rescue those involved, the Modesto Fire Department reported.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Lon Dale Road. First responders arrived to find two vehicles spread roughly 150 yards apart, one of them engulfed in flames with a person trapped inside.
Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the fire and safely free the individual from the wreckage. Additional emergency resources were called in to assist due to the severity of the situation.
Both drivers were airlifted to local hospitals for treatment, while a third person was transported by ambulance. As of Friday morning, the extent of their injuries had not been released.
The California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the cause of the crash.

MODESTO, CA – A vehicle crash early Friday morning prompted the temporary closure of a section of Briggsmore Avenue in Modesto, according to local authorities.
The Modesto Police Department reported that both Briggsmore’s eastbound and westbound lanes, between Tully Road and College Ave., were shut down as of 6:06 a.m. to allow emergency crews to respond safely.
The crash is believed to have resulted in at least one major injury, though further details were not immediately available.
