STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA — Three people are in the hospital with serious injuries following a head-on crash east of Oakdale on Monday, officials said.
According to a spokesperson from the California Highway Patrol, two vehicles collided along Highway 120, temporarily shutting down the road between Lancaster and Kennedy Road.
Preliminary reports indicate that one of the vehicles, driven by a 64-year-old male, veered into the eastbound lane for reasons that remain unknown.
All three individuals involved in the crash—including an 83-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman in the second car—suffered major injuries and are currently in critical condition. Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene and transported them to a local hospital for care.
CHP confirmed that all occupants were wearing seatbelts and that DUI is not suspected. Authorities are looking into the possibility of a medical emergency, but the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Our thoughts are with those affected and their loved ones during this difficult and challenging time. We hope for a rapid recovery for all involved.
