TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA — Two separate motorcycle crashes in Tuolumne County left visiting riders seriously injured over the weekend.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the first incident occurred Saturday morning just before 11 a.m. on Highway 120 near Grizzly Road. A 70-year-old man from Clovis lost control of his Harley-Davidson, resulting in significant injuries. Emergency responders airlifted him to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where he received treatment for major trauma.
Hours later, a second crash happened on Springfield Road, not far from Parrotts Ferry Road. Authorities report that a 56-year-old man from San Jose pulled alongside a motorcycle being ridden by a 31-year-old man from Rohnert Park. The two motorcycles collided, causing both riders to be thrown into nearby rocks and brush.
The 31-year-old rider suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Adventist Health Sonora before later being transferred to Doctors Medical Center. Both incidents remain under investigation as officials work to determine contributing factors.

JAMESTOWN, CA — Late Thursday night, a man lost his life following a single-vehicle off-highway crash in Tuolumne County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident occurred at an unknown time on a section of private property close to Pulpit Rock Road in Jamestown. Authorities said a 66-year-old man was riding a Yamaha off-road vehicle when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle headed down an embankment.
Investigators stated the rider was thrown from the vehicle, which then came to rest on top of him. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The man’s name has not yet been released and will be shared by the Tuolumne County Coroner’s Office once family members have been notified. CHP officials noted that alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash.
Our thoughts are with this man’s loved ones during this very sad time.
