Accident On 126 Santa Paula

Santa Paula Accident

A rollover accident involving one vehicle on Saturday, April 16, resulted in the injury of three people. The accident was responded to by emergency personnel from both Ventura County and Santa Paula. The incident is under investigation by authorities as to cause.

What Happened?

A report of an accident came in shortly after 4:00 p.m. The rollover occurred along eastbound Highway 126, between Edwards Ranch and Briggs roads. The California Highway Patrol log stated that an individual trapped in the vehicle was extricated by firefighters, and two persons were transported to the hospital for treatment. One of the car accident victims reportedly had major injuries that were suffered in the crash.

Incidence of Rollovers

Rollovers accounted for 32.5 percent of accident fatalities in 2014. The type of vehicle driven has a correlation with the propensity for rollover in the statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In addition, fatalities are more common in rollovers than in any other type of motor vehicle accident.

Vehicles With the Highest Rate of Rollover Accidents

Utility trucks, pickups and vans show the highest rate of fatalities from rollovers. Out of the number of rollover accidents, passenger vehicles accounted for 22.3 percent. However, there are measures that drivers can take to reduce the risk. Drunk driving, speeding and distracted driving such as using a cell phone or accessing GPS can increase the potential of a rollover or accident with another vehicle.

Recovering From a Car Accident Injury

Auto accident injuries can be serious and require a long recuperative period and lost time from work. In the meantime, medical expenses mount, and some unfortunate people may have their lives changed forever. From broken bones and spinal cord injuries to severe brain injuries and PTSD, when an accident has been caused by the negligent actions of another person, these victims should not have to bear the brunt of financial worries. An attorney experienced in personal injury law may be able to help an injured person recover just compensation to pay for the expenses associated with the injury. In that way, the victim can concentrate on getting better without having financial worries.
