Auto Accident Kills Hilmar Man
A hit and run accident in south Turlock claimed the life of a Hilmar man on December 26, 2018. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. along the 1200 block of Lander Avenue. A man was driving his Nissan pickup truck southbound along Lander Avenue when he attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by a Ford Mustang. The occupants of the Ford reportedly fled the scene, leaving the Nissan driver behind to succumb to his injuries at the scene. Officials have identified the decedent as 55-year-old Jose Mora of Hilmar.

Investigators from the Turlock Police Department have not yet located the occupants of the Ford Mustang involved in the collision. So far, speeding is suspected as a factor in this crash.
