Penn Valley Motorcyclist Suffers Major Injuries in Solo Crash on Highway 20

A Penn Valley motorcyclist suffers major injuries in solo crash on Highway 20 on Monday morning, July 27, 2026, along Highway 20, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Motorcyclist Critically Injured

CHP Officer Sean Armacher said the crash occurred while the rider was traveling westbound on Highway 20, approximately one-half mile west of Brighton Street.

The motorcyclist is reported to be a 65-year-old man from Penn Valley sustained major injuries and was reported to be in critical condition following the crash.

Authorities have not released the rider’s identity to allow time for family notification.

Highway Temporarily Closed

Emergency crews responded to the scene and closed Highway 20 for approximately 30 minutes while first responders treated the injured rider and cleared the roadway.

Investigators stated that speed was not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Investigation Ongoing

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the solo motorcycle crash. Additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.
