Man Critically Injured After Light Rail Train Collides With Truck in Rancho Cordova

A man suffered critical injuries after a Sacramento Regional Transit light rail train collides with truck in Rancho Cordova on Friday afternoon, July 3, 2026, in Rancho Cordova, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Crash Occurred at Folsom Boulevard and Kilgore Road

At around 1:02 p.m., a Sacramento Regional Transit light rail train collided with a truck at Folsom Boulevard and Kilgore Road. Fire officials reported that the impact pinned the truck against a light rail electrical pole.

Driver Extricated From Wreckage

Emergency crews stabilized the truck before safely extricating the driver from the severely damaged vehicle.

The man was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition for emergency medical treatment.

No additional injuries were immediately reported.

Investigation Underway
