Dump Truck Driver Dies After Solo Crash on Interstate 5 in Woodland

A dump truck driver dies after solo crash on Interstate 5 in Woodland on Thursday, July 25, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Crash Reported South of Main Street

Officers responded just after noon to reports of a crash on southbound Interstate 5 south of Main Street in the Woodland area.

According to CHP, a Peterbilt dump truck with a single occupant was traveling southbound when it left the roadway and rolled over onto the right shoulder.

Driver Succumbs to Injuries

Emergency responders transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, the driver later died from their injuries.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

Investigation Ongoing

The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. At this time, no additional details have been released regarding potential contributing factors.
