9-Year-Old Girl Killed, Man Seriously Injured in Fatal Oak Park Hit-and-Run Crash
A 9-year-old girl was killed and a man suffered serious injuries following fatal Oak Park hit-and-run crash in the Sacramento neighborhood on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
Crash Involved Vehicle and Minibike
Police said officers responded shortly before 8 p.m. to reports of a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of 36th Street and 19th Avenue. Preliminary information indicates the collision involved a vehicle and a minibike.
When officers arrived, they located a 9-year-old girl and an adult man who had been injured in the crash. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Child Succumbs to Injuries
Despite life-saving efforts, the young girl later died from her injuries. Authorities said the adult male sustained serious injuries but is expected to survive.
The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
Driver Fled the Scene
According to investigators, the driver involved in the collision fled the area before officers arrived. Police are actively investigating the crash and working to identify and locate the driver responsible.
