A motorized scooter rider killed on Sylvan Road in Citrus Heights was struck in a traffic collision Saturday morning, May 31, 2026, according to the Citrus Heights Police Department.

Crash Occurred on Sylvan Road

Police said officers responded around 9:20 a.m. to the area of Sylvan Road, north of Greenback Lane, following reports of a collision involving a motorized scooter and a vehicle.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found the scooter rider lying in the roadway. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver Remained at the Scene

Investigators reported that the driver involved in the collision remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police also stated that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
