Fatal Crash on Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights

A 33-year-old woman was identified as the driver in a single-vehicle fatal crash on Greenback Lane in Citrus Heights early Sunday morning, May 31, 2026, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

Crash Occurred Near Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive

The collision was reported at approximately 1:54 a.m. near the intersection of Greenback Lane and Dewey Drive. Citrus Heights police said officers were alerted to the crash after receiving an automated notification from the vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found that the SUV had collided with a utility pole. The driver was unresponsive, prompting officers to immediately begin lifesaving efforts. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel transported the woman to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
