Pedestrian Fatally Struck on Florin Road in Sacramento

A pedestrian fatally struck on Florin Road in Sacramento was killed early Friday morning, May 22, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Crash Happened Near Florin Perkins Road

CHP officials said the collision occurred shortly after 2:30 a.m. on eastbound Florin Road, just west of Florin Perkins Road. Authorities reported that a vehicle traveling eastbound at an unknown speed struck a man who was in the roadway.

Investigators stated it remains unclear whether the pedestrian was crossing the street or standing in the roadway at the time of the crash.

Driver Stopped and Called 911

According to CHP, the driver immediately pulled over after the collision and contacted emergency services. First responders arrived and attempted lifesaving measures; however, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released and will be provided by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.

Authorities Continue Investigation

Officials said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators.

CHP continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
