A pedestrian fatally struck by train near Tiogawoods Drive in the South Sacramento area on March 6, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near Tiogawoods Drive. Authorities reported that an adult pedestrian was struck by a train and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The train involved in the incident was operated by Union Pacific Railroad. Officials stated that the train crew was not injured and is being offered support following the traumatic event.

The circumstances surrounding the collision have not yet been released. The investigation is currently being handled by the California Highway Patrol South Sacramento office in coordination with Union Pacific Railroad officials.
