Authorities said the incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. when a 25-year-old woman was crossing Bruceville Road and was struck in the middle of the roadway by a vehicle traveling southbound. Emergency responders and fire crews arrived at the scene, but the victim was pronounced deceased.

The driver involved in the collision fled the scene and remains unidentified. Police believe the suspect vehicle is a dark-colored SUV. The section of Bruceville Road between Laguna Boulevard and Di Lusso Drive was closed for several hours as investigators worked to collect evidence.
