Willits Major Injury Accident Occurs on Center Valley Road

A Willits major injury accident was reported Saturday evening on Center Valley Road when a vehicle crashed into a post, leaving the driver seriously hurt. According to incident information from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred at about 5:34 p.m. on December 6, and involved a solo vehicle that struck a post in or near a driveway. The call was initially logged as an injury collision but was later upgraded to a major injury traffic accident after first responders evaluated the scene.

Willits Major Injury Accident Driver Transported to Hospital for Treatment

Emergency personnel located the vehicle with significant rear damage and requested a tow truck to remove it from the scene. The driver, who was reportedly the only occupant, was transported to Adventist Health Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits for treatment. Early dispatch notes indicated the party was at one point unresponsive in the vehicle.

CHP Investigating Cause of Injury Collision

Responding agencies included the CHP, local fire personnel, and other emergency responders who secured the scene and checked for additional hazards. Alcohol does not appear to be suspected as a factor in the crash at this time, but CHP officers are conducting a full investigation to determine what led to the collision.

Recovering Compensation Following an Accident Injury

If you or a loved one was injured in a crash like this Willits major injury accident, an experienced car accident attorney can help investigate the cause, identify negligent parties, and pursue compensation for medical bills, lost income, and other damages. An attorney can also obtain the CHP collision report, communicate with insurers on your behalf, and work to protect your rights while you focus on healing.

Compensation After a Single-Vehicle Crash

Many people assume they cannot recover compensation after a single-vehicle accident, but that is often not true. In some crashes, a negligent party, such as a careless road contractor, a government entity that failed to maintain safe roadways.

A vehicle or tire manufacturer may share responsibility for the collision and resulting injuries if a defect led to the accident. For this reason, it is important to retain the vehicle so it can be examined. If an auto defect is found, the manufacturer, parts producer, and others may be held responsible for injuries. Even when the fault is disputed, an injured person may still pursue a claim to cover medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and future care needs.

How an Attorney Can Help

A skilled car accident lawyer can investigate the true cause of a single-vehicle crash by examining roadway design, lighting, signage, skid marks, debris, and vehicle damage, and by working with accident reconstruction experts when needed. An attorney can also obtain and review law enforcement reports, interview witnesses, and deal directly with insurance companies that may unfairly try to shift all the blame onto the injured driver.
