Six Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Mather Blvd and Arnold Way in Sacramento County

Six people injured in a multi-vehicle crash near Mather Blvd and Arnold Way in Sacramento County on Thursday evening, November 20, 2025. The crash occurred around 5:20 p.m. near Mather Boulevard and Arnold Way, prompting a major response from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

When emergency crews first arrived, they reported five individuals with injuries. That number was later revised to six, four adults and two children, all of whom were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and medical treatment. The conditions of the injured have not yet been released.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision. Officials have not confirmed how many vehicles were involved or whether factors such as speed, distraction, or failure to yield contributed to the crash. By approximately 6:00 p.m., emergency personnel had cleared the scene, and traffic was reopened.

Safety Reminder: Protecting Children and Families on the Road

Multi-vehicle crashes often happen during busy evening commute hours, when visibility decreases and traffic becomes more congested. It’s especially important for families to ensure children are properly restrained in age-appropriate car seats or booster seats, and that all passengers remain buckled at all times. Drivers should also remain alert, avoid distractions, and maintain safe following distances to reduce the risk of rear-end or chain-reaction collisions.
