Elderly Man Critically Injured After Crashing into Utility Pole on Fruitridge Road

An elderly man critically injured after crashing into a utility pole on Fruitridge Road Tuesday evening, October 28, 2025, according to the Sacramento Fire Department.

Emergency responders were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to Fruitridge Road near 56th Street. Upon arrival, crews found an unresponsive man in his 70s behind the wheel. Witnesses at the scene had already begun performing CPR until first responders arrived and took over life-saving efforts.

The man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) crews were also called to assess the damaged utility pole, though no power outages were reported in the surrounding area.
