A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Sacramento sends one to hospital. – On Friday, August 22, 2025, multi-vehicle collision occurred on northbound I-5 just south of Pocket Road caused major traffic delays Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash was reported around 10:07 a.m. and involved a white Alfa Romeo and a silver Dodge Ram pickup. CHP logs indicate the Dodge Ram overturned and came to rest across lanes two and three, while other vehicles were scattered along the roadway and right shoulder.
Several good Samaritans stopped to render aid before emergency crews arrived. Sacramento Fire Department personnel responded to the scene, and at least one person was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.
At the height of the collision, lanes two through four were blocked, creating significant delays in the Pocket area. By 10:23 a.m., CHP reported that lane one had reopened as tow trucks worked to clear the Dodge Ram and Alfa Romeo. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
