Minor Injuries Reported in Bike-Vehicle Crash on I-5 at Del Paso Road
Minor injuries reported in bike-vehicle crash on Interstate-5 at Del Paso Road — A collision involving a bicycle and at least one other vehicle occurred on northbound I-5 at Del Paso Road in North Sacramento on August 10, 2025, resulting in minor injuries. Paramedics and other first responders treated those hurt in the crash before arranging additional medical care as needed.
The incident caused temporary traffic delays as Sacramento Fire and Rescue crews worked alongside the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to clear the scene and remove damaged property from the roadway. The bicyclist was among the injured, though the full extent of injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the collision. CHP officers are reviewing roadway evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the events that led to the crash.
Safety Reminder: Share the Road with Cyclists
Drivers and cyclists alike share a responsibility to keep roads safe. Motorists should allow at least three feet of clearance when passing bicycles, remain alert in areas with bike lanes, and avoid distractions behind the wheel. Cyclists should wear helmets, use lights and reflective gear, and follow all traffic laws. Mutual awareness and respect between drivers and cyclists can help prevent serious accidents.
