KEYES, CA — Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a vehicle fire and nearby grass fire along Highway 99 in Keyes on Friday afternoon, working diligently to ensure public safety.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the initial report came in around 4:30 p.m. about a vehicle on fire in the northbound lanes near Faith Home Road. Shortly afterward, additional reports indicated a vegetation fire in the same area. At this time, it’s not yet known whether the two fires were connected or separate incidents.
By 5:08 p.m., one northbound lane remained open to allow traffic to continue moving safely.
Aerial footage showed the vehicle fully engulfed in flames as firefighters battled the nearby grass fire with care and coordination.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether anyone was injured. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we extend deep gratitude to the emergency crews responding to the incident.
