Sacramento Native Directs Northern California Movie

Sacramento Native to Direct Upcoming Film

A native from the Sacramento area will be directing and filming a movie in various locations of Northern California. The hometown film is based upon an uprising topic that is not discussed often in modern-day society. For this reason, the film director aims to bring awareness to the topic of sex-trafficking. His hope is to bring attention to the plight of men and women who are caught up in this dark underworld.

Deon Taylor, Sacramento Native, Directs Film in Sacramento

Deon Taylor, the director of the film, is a native of the Sacramento area and was also a graduate from Florin High School. Taylor is a self-taught director and writer who was a basketball player. Taylor and his family moved from Gary, Indiana to Sacramento, California when he was 17-years old. Taylor believed that the Sacramento area would be a great city with a location that is the fitting match for his film, “Stranded.” On Monday, August 29, 2016, cameras started rolling at the state Capitol. Northern California residents can view crews for the film around the area until Friday, September 2, 2016.

Sacramento Native’s Film Background

The film “Stranded” is a thrill-taking movie that is based upon a journalist, played by actress Paula Patton, reporting about sex trafficking. However, the journalist digs beyond the surface of her report and ends up getting herself kidnapped. The movie is aiming to bring awareness to the topic of sex trafficking to not only the local community of Sacramento but around the globe as well.
