Motorcycle Rider Injured in Crash With Vehicle on Watt Avenue

A major injury accident that occurred in North Highlands injured a motorcyclist in a collision with a vehicle on September 14. The collision happened shortly before 9:00 p.m. along northbound Watt Avenue just south of Roseville Road. It was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that a Toyota Prius collided with a motorcycle rider.

Motorcycle Rider Transported to Hospital After Injury Accident

The motorcycle was found by authorities down in the street blocking the lanes and had to be towed from the scene. The rider was transported to a hospital nearby with significant injuries. No update has been provided on the rider’s condition. The CHP is conducting an investigation into the injury accident to determine how it occurred and who was at fault.

Motorcycle Accident Injuries

When a motorcycle rider experiences an accident, serious injuries can occur. Not only can the rider be injured by the impact of the collision but can also suffer additional harm caused by the bike itself and by landing on the ground. This trauma can result in hospitalization and resulting expenses, lost wages because the injured rider cannot work and, of course, their pain and suffering.

What Can I Recover by Filing a Personal Injury Claim?

All of your medical costs due to your injury accident can be recovered by filing a claim, even your out-of-pocket expenses. You can recover the wages you lost because you were too injured to work as well as any perks you received in your job such as bonuses, tips and insurance or pension benefits. If you cannot return to your former job but have to take one that pays less, the difference in salaries is recoverable. If you suffered a permanent injury that prevents you from working, you could recover your salary and benefits until you reach the age of retirement.

Pain and suffering compensation can include more than the physical trauma you suffered in your injury accident. It can also include the psychological and emotional suffering you experience, which is common in a traffic collision. Some people even develop post-traumatic stress disorder and have to seek professional treatment. The cost of that treatment is recoverable also.

Can I Afford to Hire an Injury Lawyer?

Absolutely. Injury lawyers work on a contingency basis. This means that you pay them nothing unless your case is won. They investigate the accident to gather the evidence to support your claim, gather all the documentation and negotiate on your behalf with the at-fault party’s insurance company while keeping you informed of the progress all the way. This allows you to recover from your injury without the added stress. About 95 percent of all accident claims are settled through the insurance company. If not, the injury lawyer can take your case to court to get you the compensation that you deserve.
