Motorcyclist Critically Injured During Alleged Auburn DUI

A motorcyclist driving with his 10-year-old son as a passenger was severely injured during an alleged Auburn DUI that took place on Monday, September 9, 2019. According to officers of the Auburn Police Department (APD), the accident involved the motorcycle and another passenger vehicle. No updates on the condition of the motorcyclist have been released by hospital officials, and police say they are still investigating the collision.

Crash Information

The accident took place just after 3:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Lincoln Way on the northeastern side of Auburn. APD stated that a passenger vehicle was heading westbound on Lincoln when the driver apparently lost control and traveled into oncoming lanes, crossing over a double-yellow line. After entering oncoming traffic, the vehicle collided with the motorcycle.

Officials at the accident site discovered that the motorcyclist had been critically injured. The man was immediately rushed to a local hospital for emergency medical care. The 10-year-old passenger was not found with any significant physical trauma but was also taken to the hospital to be screened for possible non-visible injuries.

Investigation

According to police reports, the vehicle driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol when the collision took place. The man was arrested on-site before being booked into the Placer County Jail where his bail was set at $50,000.

Dealing With a Serious Injury

When a member of your family is seriously hurt during an accident, it can come along with some very difficult consequences. Not only are people often faced with a complicated and painful recovery process, but paying for hospital bills and other medical costs can be a burden. Furthermore, those who suffer serious injuries are often unable to work for a period of time and this lost income can be critical, especially when the injured person is an income-earner in their household.

Because these concerns are so serious, it’s important to get in touch with a nearby injury lawyer who can talk with you about your case and give you the information you need to move forward with a personal injury claim. By filing one of these claims, families can hold those responsible for their losses financially liable for the accident. In many cases, families can recover compensation for a wide variety of damages including lost wages, pain and suffering, medical expenses, and more.

How to Find a Lawyer You Can Trust

If your loved one is in the hospital or if you have recently been injured, the last thing you want is more stress. For this reason, many people want to put off the process of searching for a lawyer they can trust to handle their case effectively. However, finding a quality attorney isn’t difficult if you know what to look for, and the sooner you begin a personal injury case, the more effective your attorney can be.
