Woodland Pedestrian Fatally Injured During Crash

On Friday, October 25, 2019, a Woodland pedestrian lost his life after being involved in a car accident. According to reports from officials of the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident happened on a local highway and involved one vehicle as well as the fatally injured pedestrian. The decedent was identified on Wednesday, October 29, 2019, as Boris Miron, a local 28-year-old man and the father of six young girls. A GoFundMe page has been created on behalf of Boris Miron’s family to help cover his final resting expenses.

Crash Details

This accident reportedly took place at around 9:00 p.m. A 33-year-old Petaluma man had been traveling northbound on Highway 113 and had just passed County Road 25A. According to reports, Miron had been crossing the highway on foot when he was struck from behind by the oncoming vehicle.

The driver stopped immediately and contacted emergency officials. When responders reached the crash site, they discovered that Biron received critical injuries as a result of the impact. Sadly, Biron lost his life at the scene of the accident. No other individuals suffered an injury during the incident, according to reports.

Investigation

As police continue to look into possible causal factors involved in this accident, no information regarding suspected causes has been released. When an involved party in a car accident passes away, they are often unable to tell investigators about what happened. Without the testimony of the decedent, police can have a difficult time fully understanding what factors were involved in the crash.

Because of this, it is very important for families of decedents to reach out to an experienced attorney who knows how to conduct an accident investigation in order to protect their right to recover compensation for their losses. Your lawyer will be able to determine whether or not faulty vehicle parts, roadway hazards, or other types of negligence were part of the crash.

Wrongful Death Damages and Quick Action

When families suddenly lose somebody they love, the emotional impact is often overwhelming. Frequently, coping with the emotions involved in a wrongful death case can leave people feeling exhausted. For this reason, it’s common for families to delay getting in touch with a lawyer. While it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed, the unfortunate truth is that liable parties typically don’t experience the same emotions. Those responsible for the accident are usually quick to start putting together a legal defense so that they can avoid financial responsibility. The sooner you can begin working with an attorney, the abler your lawyer is to prevent these parties from controlling investigations and disclaiming responsibility.

By filing a wrongful death claim after a fatal crash, families can receive the compensation they need for losses such as medical costs, funeral expenses, lost income, personal damages, and more. Knowing that your family is financially secure can afford you the stability you need to begin the process of healing emotionally.
