Woodland Car Crash at Intersection Causes Multiple Injuries

Police reported multiple injuries in a Woodland car crash on October 5. The accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 16 and County Road 97 in front of the Willow Oak Grocery at about 4:34 p.m. The collision involved a Jeep and sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), which responded to the incident.

At Least One Person Hospitalized in Woodland Car Crash

At least one major injury was reported, as well as other casualties. Information was not released on how many people were transported to hospitals. The CHP traffic crash detectives are investigating the incident to determine fault and what happened to cause it.

Intersection Crashes and Their Causes

Traffic accidents occur around half the time at intersections. Traffic converges from all directions at one location, complicated by motorcyclists, bicycle riders and pedestrians. The majority of these collisions are caused by negligence. A Woodland car crash can be caused by many factors, including:

  • Speeding drivers can crash into other motorists legally passing through intersections when they race through red lights and stop signs.
  • Drunk drivers can’t judge distances and stay in their lanes, resulting in them hitting another vehicle. A drunk driver cannot track with their eyes, cannot judge distances correctly, and shows slowed reflexes, posing a safety hazard to everyone on the road.
  • When drivers are distracted by texting, talking on cell phones, or performing other tasks, they take their attention off the road and surrounding traffic. Taking their eyes off the road increases the risk of colliding with another driver at an intersection.
  • Striking a vehicle from the rear that is waiting at an intersection for the light to change or clear can push it into traffic, where others can strike the car.

The Legal Help You Need for Your Personal Injury Case

Automobile accidents often result in serious injuries requiring hospitalization, surgeries, recuperation periods and other expenses. As a result, those who are seriously injured can no longer work to support themselves. The lawyer in charge of your case can calculate financial losses and pain and suffering damages.

As part of the investigation into the Woodland car crash, the attorney determines whether the other driver was responsible for the accident. This allows the injured to pursue compensation as a result. The following areas may be investigated:

  • An accident report containing errors may prevent an injured party from filing a claim, so our investigators scrutinize it.
  • The surveillance cameras in the area are examined to determine if the accident has been recorded.
  • Witnesses to the accident are interviewed for statements that corroborate how the intersection collision occurred.
  • As part of the accident reconstruction process, photographs of the accident site are taken, which are used to support the compensation claim.
