Solo Vehicle Crash Occurs at Arboga Road and Ella Avenue

On July 15, a driver in Olivehurst was involved in a solo vehicle crash that resulted in facial injuries. The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at Arboga Road and Ella Avenue. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers at the scene said the driver was able to exit the vehicle on their own. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Information was not given on whether the injured driver was transported to a hospital or received treatment at the scene. Investigators with the CHP traffic unit are determining why the accident happened.

Government Negligence Can Cause a Solo Vehicle Crash

Solo vehicle accidents can sometimes be caused by government negligence. Poorly maintained roads, lack of guardrails or other safety structures, or inadequate signage can all lead to a crash. In some cases, government agencies have been found liable for the damages caused by a motor vehicle accident due to their negligence.

For example, if a road has not been maintained in accordance with proper safety protocols, or if there is an obstruction that the government failed to remove, then the agency may be liable for any injuries or property damage caused by a crash. The timeline in which to file a government claim is only six months, but an injury lawyer can ensure paperwork is completed and submitted.

A Solo Vehicle Crash Can Result Due to a Defective Auto Part

When it comes to solo vehicle accidents, a defective auto part can be the cause. For instance, an issue with the brakes could lead to a driver being unable to stop their vehicle in time and crashing into a tree. Additionally, problems with the steering or suspension systems can also cause a driver to lose control.

In some cases, the cause of an accident can only be determined with an investigation by an experienced auto mechanic or other specialist. If a defective part is found to have caused the collision, the injured party has the right to place a defective auto part liability claim with the manufacturer and others.

Personal Injury Claims: Recoverable Compensation

Various types of damages may be available in a personal injury claim, including:

  • Compensation for medical expenses
  • Loss of wages if injury prevents the employee from working
  • Damages awarded in severe or permanent injury cases often include pain and suffering
  • Having a loss of consortium
  • Distressed emotions
  • In some cases, inheritance is lost
  • Assistive household services, which recover the cost of regular chores performed around the home by the deceased
  • It is sometimes possible to award punitive damages to punish the negligent or intentional conduct of the responsible party
