Solo-Vehicle Crash Near Fortuna Results in Injury

One person suffered injuries during a recent solo-vehicle crash near Fortuna. The collision happened in the early evening on Highway 36 and reportedly left the injured party trapped inside their vehicle for a significant amount of time. The cause of the crash is still being investigated by officers of California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Accident Information

The accident happened at about 4:38 p.m. in the area of Grizzly Creek Redwoods off of Highway 36. A passenger vehicle traveling on the highway reportedly veered off the road for unknown reasons. After leaving the highway, the car drove a short distance before it struck a redwood tree, causing major damage to the vehicle.

Emergency response officials were sent out to the crash site and arrived to find that the vehicle driver had suffered significant injuries. Extricating the individual from the wrecked vehicle reportedly took nearly an hour. After the injured driver was removed from the car, they were driven to a nearby ambulance. Specific details about the nature of their injuries were not released.

Investigation

As police are looking into the possible causes of this accident, investigating officers haven’t stated what factors could have been involved. Often, single-vehicle accidents are complicated and caused by more than one thing. Furthermore, many common crash causes are non-driver factors. These are things that drivers can’t control like faulty car parts or defective roads.

Personal Injury Damages

Being in a car crash can have far-reaching consequences on your life. For many people who are injured during crashes, the recovery process takes a long time and involves both mental stress and a significant amount of physical pain. Fully regaining your health can require extensive medical care, including surgeries, medication-use, therapy sessions, and more. In severe cases, injured parties are left with issues that affect them for the rest of their lives, such as problems with cognition or mobility.

The cost of medical care can be very high, and crash survivors frequently feel overwhelmed by the bills they face. On top of this, a crash injury can leave you unable to do your job, meaning a temporary or possibly permanent loss of income.

What Can I Do?

Undoubtedly, people hurt during car crashes face difficult issues. However, it is often possible to get help from a personal injury lawyer and can reclaim full compensation for the damages they have suffered. Personal injury case payments can help people recover and move on with their lives following a serious crash.

Even if you are unsure of whether or not your case requires a lawyer, it’s still a good idea to call one. The majority of injury lawyers are more than happy to give free advice over the phone so that you can make an informed decision about moving forward with your case.
