Crash on Eastbound Arden Way Causes Injuries

A two-vehicle collision in Sacramento on October 11 sent at least one person to a hospital for additional medical evaluation. The crash happened along eastbound Arden Way and Eastern Avenue in the Arden-Arcade area around 8:12 a.m., involving a Subaru and a pickup truck. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that Arden Way was blocked by the collision just east of Eastern Avenue.

Investigation Underway to Determine Cause of Two-Vehicle Collision

Airbags in the vehicles deployed upon impact, however, one of the vehicles was smoking. The injured party was transported to Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. An investigation into the cause of the two-vehicle crash is underway by the CHP to assign fault and determine how it occurred.

Ways That Intersection Collisions Occur Between Two Vehicles

More than 50 percent of all traffic accidents occur at intersections, and there are a myriad of ways they can happen. This is one of the reasons it is important to engage the assistance of an accident attorney if a negligent driver caused your injury in a two-vehicle collision. Besides finding the negligence that caused your injury, the lawyer can gather evidence that supports your claim.

In addition, the lawyer can gather together documents to support your losses, calculate your damages and represent you either with insurance company negotiations or in court. Because injury lawyers work on a contingency basis, you owe nothing unless your case is successfully settled. This lets you recover from your injuries in peace without financial worry. Following are common ways a two-vehicle collision at an intersection occurs:

  • An individual fails to stop at a red light and hits another vehicle that is passing legally through the intersection.
  • An accident occurs when one car turns left in front of oncoming traffic.
  • A pedestrian crosses the street outside of a crosswalk, and a car avoiding a collision hits another vehicle.
  • A driver distracted by texting on their cell phone runs a red light and T-bones another car.
  • A motorist who has been drinking or using drugs collides with another vehicle because they are unable to react quickly enough to stop.
  • At a red light, one car rear-ends another.
  • As a car slows down to turn, it is rear-ended by another vehicle.

Poorly Maintained Roads Can Contribute to a Two-Vehicle Collision

Roadways that have been poorly maintained can result in a driver losing control and ending up in a two-vehicle accident. The government entity in charge of roadway maintenance may be held responsible.

Because the timeline to file against a government entity is only six months, after which it will be too late, enlisting the help of an accident attorney might be a good idea. The attorney can ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly and filed with the agency before the statute of limitations expires. They can also help by negotiating your settlement for you with the agency.
