A Sacramento driver left the scene of an accident that caused injuries on January 30. The collision occurred around 7:43 a.m. along southbound I-5 north of Garden Highway. A driver in a Kia Sorento was struck, and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers found them on the right-hand side of the highway.

Medics with the Sacramento Fire Department arrived, and it was determined that the driver who remained at the scene was injured. The CHP traffic accident unit is investigating how the collision occurred and is searching for the driver who fled the scene.

Assisting Injured Clients When the Driver Fled the Scene

Through the years, we’ve been able to locate many hit-and-run drivers. Making the fleeing driver accountable for his or her actions is essential, and we understand how important this is for those injured. Investigators are also assisting with this task, as are our resources and experience. The following areas are included in our accident investigation when the driver left the scene:

  • Physical evidence is found on the accident scene when paint from the vehicle, metal pieces, and tread marks are found. This identifies the make and model of a vehicle.
  • Witnesses to the accident are interviewed during the investigation of the hit-and-run accident. The accuracy and completeness of a police report ess are our responsibility. For a client’s compensation claim to be successful, it is imperative to have this information.
  • The analysis of surveillance videos and the use of accident reconstruction techniques helps us gain a better understanding of the crash. Subpoenaing surveillance videos can be used to support your claim if they capture the accident.
  • Our attorneys can use this evidence to prepare an effective negotiation or litigation case.

Add-On Insurance for Accident Compensation

Sacramento hit-and-run drivers who are at fault for accidents but cannot be identified make it difficult to compensate the victims. Even if the driver is located, he or she may have no insurance or cannot pay your injury claim. When such a situation arises, our attorneys utilize our clients’ uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.

This addendum is available to all Californians with their auto insurance coverage. In this state, there are many uninsured and underinsured motorists, so many drivers are drawn to this offer. Whether a person gets hurt while driving, walking, or riding a bicycle, or the driver leaves the scene of an accident, they can be covered by the add-on policy. If the injured party doesn’t have this add-on policy, they can also use the coverage provided by another family member. Rates are not changed.
