Redding Rollover Accident Leads to Serious Injuries

Authorities from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a woman suffered severe trauma during a rollover accident that took place on Friday, August 30, 2019. The collision took place on a local highway just outside of Redding and reportedly involved only one vehicle and did not cause any further injuries. The woman was hospitalized following the crash, and hospital officials have not reported any updates on her condition since. This accident remains under CHP investigation.

Collision Information

The crash took place in the early afternoon at around 1:15 p.m. According to police, a gray station wagon was driving on Highway 273 between Valley View and Canyon roads. An accident witness who had been driving directly behind the vehicle told police that the station wagon started moving erratically. The sudden movements continued for a short while before the vehicle made a turn onto Canyon Road. Moments later, the station wagon veered off the road and overturned, rolling up a nearby embankment. As the car was overturning, the driver was reportedly ejected through one of the vehicle’s windows.

The witness indicated that he immediately stopped his vehicle and instructed the driver behind him to call 911. He then went to render aid to the injured woman, reportedly checking her pulse. When responders arrived, they determined that she had suffered serious injuries, and she was rushed to a local hospital for care.

Rollover Accident Information

Rollover accidents can be very dangerous. Information from the NHTSA shows that, although vehicles overturn in only around two percent of crashes, over one-third of fatal collisions involve an overturned vehicle. One of the main reasons that rollover crashes can be so dangerous is that cars are often not strong enough to withstand an impact to the roof. When a vehicle roof isn’t strong enough to sustain crash damage, occupants are often left with crush injuries. In other cases, seat belts malfunction and don’t provide occupants the safety that they should.

When vehicles fail to keep occupants safe, manufacturers are often liable for the damages their negligence has caused. By seeking legal help and filing a personal injury case, crash survivors can often hold these negligent parties responsible for a wide variety of damages including hospital bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and more.

How Can I Find a Good Lawyer?

One of the biggest reasons that people put off calling a lawyer is because they don’t know how to make sure they can trust an attorney. With so many lawyers advertising in print, on T.V., and online, it can be hard to know who has the right skills and experience to effectively handle your case. This is a legitimate concern, but there are a few good ways that you can easily check to see if a lawyer is right for you. To learn more about the process, take a look at this video:
