61-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on Bruceville Road in Elk Grove

A man was killed in hit-and-run collision on Bruceville Road in Elk Grove on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. on February 3, 2026, between Bilby Road and Boa Nova Drive. Officers with the Elk Grove Police Department responded to the scene and immediately rendered aid. The victim to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was actively repairing a flat tire on his vehicle on the shoulder of Bruceville Road, when a vehicle struck him.

What Authorities Know So Far

Investigators determined that the suspect operating a Dodge pickup truck, traveling southbound on Bruceville Road when it struck the victim. The driver fled the scene following the collision. The suspect vehicle was last seen continuing southbound on Bruceville Road. Authorities believe the truck may have sustained damage to the front passenger side. The driver and vehicle remain outstanding, and the investigation is ongoing.

What Has Not Yet Been Confirmed

The identity of the deceased has not yet been released and will be confirmed by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. Investigators have not announced whether surveillance footage or witnesses have been identified, and no arrests have been made at this time.
