One Person Hospitalized After Vacaville Accident

Reports from California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that one person suffered serious injuries during a car accident that took place in Vacaville. The accident reportedly happened at a highway location during the afternoon on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

Collision Information

Officers indicated the accident happened at around 2:50 p.m. on the southbound side of Interstate Highway 505 at the I-80 junction on the eastern side of Vacaville. Upon arrival, responders found one individual who had suffered serious injuries. The individual was determined to have sustained a head injury and was transported to a nearby hospital in order to receive emergency care.

Investigation

As the investigation into this accident continues, police have not yet stated what, if any, causal factors they suspect to have played a part in this collision. Many accidents are caused by factors that are not under drivers’ control. These factors often include defective auto products such as steering systems or accelerators, hazards in the road, large potholes, medical issues, and more.

Head Injuries

Head injuries are very common in vehicle accidents and are liable to affect the brain. A traumatic brain injury (TBI) can be a very complicated injury and often change the lives of auto accident survivors. The symptoms of TBIs can vary from relatively mild to severe. Some of the more mild symptoms include headaches, nausea, fatigue, and confusion. However, more serious TBIs can cause seizures, chronic headaches, loss of smell and/or taste, paralysis, and more. Furthermore, these injuries aren’t always apparent directly after an accident happens and can take months to fully develop symptoms.

Recovering from a head injury can take time, but many people are able to fully recover even after suffering from severe trauma. However, during the recovery process, many people encounter difficulties with accessibility in their home, and others are left unable to work either permanently or for a significant period of time.

Speaking to an Attorney

Being injured in a crash often leaves people with serious financial concerns, but collision survivors can seek payments for their damages through personal injury claims. By filing such a claim, injured people can hold negligent parties and/or insurers financially responsible for lost income, medical expenses, and more. If you believe you may have a viable injury claim, it’s best to talk directly to an experienced attorney.
