Oakley Car Accident Results in Major Injuries

On Sunday, March 1, 2020, an Oakley car accident left one person with major injuries. According to officials of the Oakley Police Department (OPD), the accident occurred in the late morning in the central area of the city. The accident involved only a single vehicle, and no other injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the accident remains under official investigation.

Collision Details

According to OPD, the collision occurred just after 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of West Cypress Road and O’Hara Avenue outside of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Officials stated that a black sedan veered off of the road and into the church’s parking lot, colliding with an unspecified object.

Authorities sent personnel from OPD as well as the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District to the accident site in order to conduct an emergency response. Officials arriving at the accident scene discovered the vehicle’s driver had suffered severe injuries and called for a medical helicopter. The air ambulance transported the injured man to the John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for immediate treatment. Updates on the injured man’s condition remain unavailable at this time.

Investigation

As police continue to look into what may have caused this crash, no likely factors have been mentioned in any reports. Single-vehicle accidents like this one are frequently caused by multiple factors, many of which drivers are unable to control. These can include things like defective car parts, dangers in the roadway, and more.

Accident Injuries

Being injured during a car accident can change your life. In many cases, people who suffer accident trauma are left with symptoms that affect them for months or even years. In severe cases, it’s common for collision injuries to have life-long effects on your health.

Not only is dealing with an injury physically painful and, often, emotionally difficult, but it can also cost a lot of money. Medical bills related to car accidents can include ambulance rides, hospital rooms, surgeries, medications, long-term physical therapy, and even in-home care. Taken altogether, these costs can add up to an amount that leaves collision survivors worried about the future.

On top of medical bills, crash survivors can be left unable to perform their job, resulting in a sudden and serious loss of income and/or earning potential.

Recovering Compensation

In order to make sure that you are able to afford the care you need and make up for damages like lost income, it’s vital to reach out to a trustworthy attorney and get advice about filing a personal injury claim. These claims seek to hold at-fault parties responsible for the damage that their negligence caused and can help collision survivors claim the payments they need to recover their health and have financial stability.
