The crash blocked several traffic lanes and caused delays for motorists traveling through the area while emergency crews responded to the scene.

Driver Safety Tips to Help Prevent Multi-Vehicle Crashes

Multi-vehicle collisions often occur when drivers do not have enough time or distance to react to sudden slowdowns. Drivers can help reduce the risk of chain-reaction crashes by following these safety tips:

  • Maintain a safe following distance between vehicles
  • Reduce speed during heavy traffic or nighttime driving
  • Stay alert and avoid distracted driving
  • Anticipate sudden braking in congested areas or near freeway ramps
  • Use headlights and signals properly to increase visibility to other drivers
