Motorcyclist Dies in Carquinez Bridge Accident
California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that a motorcyclist lost their life in a Carquinez Bridge accident that took place on Sunday, September 22, 2019. The accident reportedly involved two vehicles and did not leave any other individuals with injuries. The name of the motorcyclist has not yet been reported by county officials, and no other personal information has been made available. The collision remains under investigation by CHP officers.
Crash Information
The accident took place shortly after 6:30 p.m. The motorcyclist had been heading eastbound at the southern end of the Carquinez Bridge between Vallejo and Crocket. The motorcycle reportedly struck a passenger vehicle that had also been driving eastbound on the highway near the Pomona Street onramp. Authorities say that the events that led up to the crash remain unclear at this time. However, reports did indicate that the motorcyclist was ejected from their vehicle and off the bridge, landing on a pair of train tracks below.
