Two parties were seriously injured in a vehicle versus motorcycle crash that occurred on Avenal Cutoff Road in Kings County, the California Highway Patrol reported. The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m. in the area of Kent Avenue and Avenal Cutoff Road.

CHP traffic investigators indicated in a preliminary release that a Ford was traveling northbound on Avenal Cutoff Road. At the same time, a man and a woman were riding together on a motorcycle headed southbound on Avenal Cutoff Road. The Ford allegedly veered into the southbound lane and in the direct path of the motorcyclist.

The left side of the motorcycle was reportedly struck by the left side of the Ford, officials said. The impact of the collision allegedly caused the bike to overturn. Both riders were ejected off of the motorcycle. Sadly, the two motorcycle occupants were seriously injured in the crash.
