Major Injuries Suffered During Auto Accident in Fairfield

California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that at least one person suffered trauma during an auto accident in Fairfield that took place on Thursday, January 28, 2021. The collision reportedly involved three different passenger vehicles and took place late at night. The number of people who were injured was not indicated in CHP reports, and an investigation into the cause of this crash is still underway.

Crash Details

The collision happened at around 11:10 p.m. on Highway Interstate 80 at the Abernathy Road Offramp on the northeastern side of Fairfield. According to police, the crash involved a white Chevrolet Camaro as well as a Honda Accord and a third unknown vehicle. Specific information about the events that led up to this accident weren’t reported, however CHP indicated that two of the three vehicles were seriously damaged and that three freeway lanes were blocked by wreckage following the incident.

Response

Responders were sent to the site at 11:13 p.m. and arrived around five minutes later. When they arrived, police determined that serious injuries were suffered during the crash and called for an ambulance to transport injured individuals to the hospital. No life-threatening injuries were reported.

Investigation

After the crash, the highway was partially shut down for over an hour while CHP officers investigated the scene for evidence that could help them understand what caused the crash. At this point in time, CHP hasn’t reported a suspected cause. Often, collisions similar to this one happen because of non-driver factors. These are factors that drivers of cars aren’t able to control, like roadway conditions or malfunctioning auto parts. When these factors cause crashes, entities like vehicle manufactures, government bodies, and others may share financial responsibility for damages.

Accident Injuries Have a Major Impact

Those who survive auto accidents frequently sustain injuries that have a major impact on their life. In many cases, survivors need to undergo surgeries as well other expensive medical procedures and may be left unable to do their job, leaving them in a very difficult financial situation. For car accident survivors who are worried about affording their own recovery, the situation can often feel overwhelming.

However, it is possible to reach out for help. Survivors can call a Fairfield personal injury attorney and get advice about claiming compensation for their damages by filing a claim against at-fault parties. Often, personal injury claims provide full payments to cover medical costs, lost income, and other economic damages as well as money for personal suffering and loss of quality of life.

If you want to know whether or not you’ll be able to obtain compensation after a car accident, the best thing you can do is call a local attorney who can listen to the details of your case and give you personalized advice.
