Did you know that Chico, California is home to the largest yo-yo in the world? That’s right, weighing at about 250 pounds, this yo-yo is on display at the National Yo-Yo Museum in Chico. But that’s not all that Chico is about. Let’s see what else is going on in the city this month!
Community Family Fun Day
Date: Saturday, July 27, 2019

Location: Canyon Oaks Country Club, 999 Yosemite Dr, Chico, CA
Admission: $15 per person
Join The Retrotones as they belt out the hit covers of country, classic rock, rhythm, & blues music from the ‘60s through current tunes! There will be a beer garden and lip-smacking food in addition to balloon tying and face painting.
There will also be a slip & slide and a bounce house for the little ones. This is the perfect event to just kick back and relax with your friends and family over the weekend. Five percent of the proceeds from the Fun Day will go to a local charity!
Friday Night Concerts With The Daly Blues
Date: Saturday, July 27, 2019
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Location: Downtown Chico City Plaza, Main St., Chico, CA
Admission: $15 per person
Every Friday for the months of July, August, and September, the City Plaza will be hosting live music concerts for free! Local bands from across the county will be performing live in the heart of downtown. The music will range from reggae and classic rock to swing and blues. So basically every kind of music!
You can plan a night out with friends or family and shop and dine in downtown Chico this weekend. You’ll also have a chance to browse and buy from “Art in the Park” organized by the Chico Art Center during the concerts.
Chakra Basics – Energetic Anatomy Series

If you love trivia, then head to Woodstock’s Pizza this Wednesday and put all those years of education to good use! Engage in a little friendly competition as freshly baked, mouthwatering pizza, and pints of beer flow freely around you.
These trivia challenges go all night long, so feel free to unleash your inner geek for as long as you like. You need to call to sign up at 4 p.m., but it’s free to play. The teams can be anywhere between one and six people. The event has first-come-first-serve based sign-ups so don’t forget to book your spot in advance.
