It was only 14 years ago when the University of California, Merced, was established. UC Merced is the first research university built in America in the 21st century. Merced also ranks in the Top 5 California counties for agricultural production, making over 88 percent of the sweet potatoes in California alone. Overall, Merced is a beautiful city that offers many recreational activities for people of all types and ages. Zumba Class

Date: Tuesday, January 29, 2019

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Location: 2951 N G Street, Merced, CA, 95341

Admission: Free

Attendants must be prepared for a complete physical workout in this Zumba class taught by instructor Rachel Rivero de Posey. This one hour class will combine elements of muscle conditioning, cardio, flexibility, balance, and stamina training to leave you feeling better than when you walked in. The only thing more important than getting fit in this class is having fun, so be ready to dance while simultaneously strengthening your body.

Tension Release Exercises

Date: Thursday, January 31, 2019

Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Location: 79 W Alexander Ave, Merced, CA 95341

Admission: $15 – $20 tickets

Give up one hour of your day for a guided meditation session where participants will practice basic tools of mindfulness and therapeutic stretches. The mind-body connection is real and cannot be ignored so this class will focus on demonstrating the mental benefits that come with regulating your central nervous system. Whether you have experienced emotional or physical stress, these simple exercises are designed to help you let go of any deeply-rooted tension. This class focuses on the use of gentle yet powerful exercises, so people with all levels of experience are encouraged to participate.

Hangar BBQ Comedy Series

Date: Thursday, January 31, 2019

Time: 8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Admission: $5 tickets

The special guest for this week’s comedy series at Hangar BBQ will be no other than Quincy Weekley. Quincy is one of the strongest, newest faces in the stand-up comedy scene – this is your chance to see him while his performances are still at a cheap cost! As a native of the Bay Area, he has already proved his worth at many of the top LA comedy spots. Weekley has opened up for big comedians including Tommy Davidson, Damon Wayans, and George Lopez. He will have you in tears with laughter, so come over for a night of good old fashioned comedy.
