Wrong-way collisions are among the most severe types of traffic crashes because they often occur at high speeds and involve direct, head-on impacts. Drivers should remain alert to roadway signs and lane markings, particularly on rural roads where visibility may be reduced. Anyone who observes a wrong-way driver should safely pull over, call 911, and avoid attempting to pass or confront the vehicle.
